Compellent Technologies (CML) shares are trading higher this morning after ThinkEquity analyst Rajeesh Ghai upped his rating on the stock to Buy from Hold. He also inched up his 2010 EPS estimate for the storage systems company to 36 cents, from 34 cents. For 2011, he expects profits to jump to 60 cents a share.

“Following our channel checks, which suggested strong upgrade activity within the installed base, healthy new customer wins, and a strong pipeline, our confidence in Compellant’s ability to sequentially grow throughout 2010 has been renewed,” he writes in a research note. “Our confidence has also been enhanced that the gross margin decline seen last quarter may be a single-quarter occurrence.”

CML this morning is up 57 cents, or 3.4%, to $17.56.
